THE JOURNAL · NEWSLETTER
Slow, signed, archive-grade. Once a month.
Editorial notes from a self-funded design studio — not a content marketing funnel. Before you subscribe, here's exactly what you'll get in the first three issues.

WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE
Three sample issues — actual scrollable preview.
Issue 01 · Founding manifesto
[The Journal] After 15 years, I built the studio I couldn't buy
I spent fifteen years designing product before AI agents inverted the economics overnight. Output is no longer scarce — taste is. AI2 Design exists to encode taste into data a copilot can read. This first issue walks through the three products and the one promise I refuse to break: no VC. We close the doors before we sell the soul.
Issue 02 · Inspiration spotlight
[The Journal] Linear's marketing earns trust through restraint
Linear is the rarest kind of product marketing page — one that earns trust through restraint, not spectacle. We catalogued it because it distills the 2026 technical-minimalism playbook better than any landing we've audited. This issue breaks down six design decisions to steal — and one to avoid.
Issue 03 · Engineering transparency
[The Journal] What your URL paste actually does to our infrastructure
When you paste a URL into our Design Extractor, the request travels through Vercel Frankfurt edge → Playwright Chromium with a real Brave executable → 18 token analyzers → optionally Anthropic Claude for the curator brief. This issue walks through the full pipeline plus the cost — every URL you submit costs us approximately $0.04. We absorb that during early access.
WHAT WE REFUSE
Six things you won't see in our inbox.
- ✗ No surveillance — we use PostHog Cloud EU with cookieless mode
- ✗ No tracking pixels — every issue is plain HTML, no 1×1 transparent gif
- ✗ No win-back funnels — unsubscribe means unsubscribe, instantly
- ✗ No sponsored takeovers — sponsor logos appear once at the bottom, never in the body
- ✗ No AI-generated copy — every word is written by Berkay, signed and archived
- ✗ No frequency creep — if we ever increase past one-per-month, we'll re-ask consent
