Monochrome Palette

A color system built primarily from one hue's tints and shades, plus a single high-contrast accent.

Monochrome palettes — Linear, xAI, Notion, Stripe in places — use grayscale or a single hue at multiple lightness values for 95%+ of surface, then deploy one or two accent colors homeopathically. The discipline forces hierarchy through tone and contrast, not color variety. The trap is monotony if the grayscale is too narrow; the saving is restraint that always reads as authority.
