Fair Use & Gallery Policy

The Inspiration Gallery is an editorial catalogue published on the ai2 website at ai2.design (the "Gallery"). It is operated by BEY AGENCY LTD ("we", "us" or "our"), a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16435596, whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ.

The Gallery documents and comments on the design language of publicly accessible websites. Its purpose is to describe, review, analyse and discuss how those sites approach typography, colour, spacing, layout, component structure and interaction, for the benefit of designers, engineers, students and AI-assisted teams. It is a reference work of commentary and criticism, not a directory of endorsements and not a marketplace of the featured sites.

Our good-faith basis for publishing screenshots, brand references, curator notes and extracted design tokens is fair dealing under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. In particular, we rely on the exceptions for criticism and review, for quotation, and for the reporting of matters, together with the general principle that factual and editorial commentary about publicly available works is permitted.

Each entry in the Gallery carries commentary and analysis of our own. We want to be accurate about how that is produced: much of it is generated by our extraction and analysis pipeline rather than typed out by hand, and it is then selected, framed and published under our editorial responsibility. The design characteristics we display are derived by measuring publicly rendered pages; they are not copied from the source site's own files. A screenshot is used only to the extent needed to illustrate the point being made, is attributed to and linked back to its source, and is not a substitute for visiting the original site.

Fair dealing is judged on the facts of each case, and we do not claim that every possible use is beyond question. We assess our use in good faith, keep it proportionate to the commentary it supports, and will reconsider any specific item that a rights-holder brings to our attention through the procedure below.

For each featured site, the Gallery may display the following, always drawn from publicly accessible pages:

• The name of the company, product or site being discussed, used for identification and commentary.
• Screenshots of publicly accessible web pages, shown to illustrate the design point under discussion, attributed and linked back to the source.
• References to the brand and its public design language, for the purposes of criticism, review and education.
• Design tokens (for example colour, typography, spacing and component structure) that we derive through our own analysis pipeline, together with the written analysis we publish alongside them.
• Derived material generated from that analysis, which for some entries includes an accessibility matrix, a summary of the image strategy, an agent brief, paste-ready component recipes and copyable exports in Tailwind, CSS variable, W3C JSON and Markdown form. These are our own descriptions of observable characteristics, generated by our pipeline, and are published for study rather than as an authorised export of the featured site.

We do not publish content that sits behind authentication, paywalls or other access barriers where we did not have lawful access, and we do not present the extracted tokens as an official export authorised by the featured site.

Inclusion in the Gallery does not imply any partnership, endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation or commercial relationship between us and the featured site or its owner. ai2 is an independent editorial project and is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by any of the brands it discusses.

All third-party names, trademarks, wordmarks, logos, product names and design elements referred to in the Gallery remain the property of their respective owners. They are used solely for identification, commentary, criticism, review and educational illustration, and no ownership of, or right in, those marks is claimed or transferred by their appearance in the Gallery.

Editorial decisions about the Gallery, which site is included and how it is described, are made by BEY AGENCY LTD. We are a small operation rather than a newsroom, and much of the analysis is machine-generated before we publish it, so we would rather you judge the work than an implied masthead. We aim for our commentary to be accurate and fair, we welcome factual corrections from the owners of featured sites, and any sponsorship or advertising elsewhere on the ai2 website does not purchase, influence or override what appears in the Gallery or how it is described.

If you own or hold rights in a site featured in the Gallery, you have several options. You may:

• Ask us to correct a factual inaccuracy in the commentary or metadata, while the entry remains in place.
• Ask us to add context, a clarification or a link that you would like included.
• Ask us to remove a specific item (for example a particular screenshot, token export or line of commentary) or the entry as a whole, through the takedown procedure set out below.

You are not required to show that the material is unlawful in order to ask for its removal. We will consider a good-faith request from a verified owner even where our own view is that the use is fair dealing.

A removal or correction request may be submitted by the owner of the featured site, by a rights-holder in the material at issue (for example the owner of a copyright work or trademark), or by a person who is duly authorised to act on behalf of such an owner or rights-holder. A request made on behalf of another party without authority to do so will not be actioned.

Send your request by email to hi@bey.agency, using the subject line "Gallery removal - [site or content name]". This ensures the request reaches the right team and is logged for review. Requests sent through social media, web forms or other third-party channels may not be seen or processed.

To allow us to assess and act on your request promptly, please include the following:

• Identification of the content: the URL of the Gallery page and a clear description of the specific item you are asking us to act on (for example a screenshot, a token export, or a particular line of commentary), so that we can locate it.
• The right you hold or the capacity in which you act: whether you are the site owner, a rights-holder in the material, or an authorised representative, and of whom.
• The basis for your request: for example alleged copyright infringement, trademark concern, a factual inaccuracy, a privacy or confidentiality concern, or simply an editorial preference for removal.
• Your contact details: a name and an email address at which we can reach you and, where you act for an organisation, your role and the organisation you represent.
• A good-faith statement that the information you have provided is accurate and that, where you act on behalf of a rights-holder, you are authorised to do so.

We aim to acknowledge each request within a few business days of receipt and to complete our review shortly afterwards, subject to the volume and complexity of requests we are handling at the time. During review we may ask you follow-up questions or request further detail so that we can identify the material and understand the basis of your request.

Following review, we may remove the item or entry, add context or a correction, or decline the request with our reasons. Where we consider our use to be lawful fair dealing we may explain that view, but we will still give genuine weight to a good-faith request from a verified owner and, where it is appropriate to do so, we expect to remove or amend the material.

Our acknowledgement of, review of, or action on a request (including any removal, contextualisation or correction) is made in good faith and as a matter of editorial courtesy. It does not constitute an admission of copyright infringement, trademark infringement, defamation, or any other wrongful conduct or liability on the part of BEY AGENCY LTD, ai2, or their directors, employees, contractors or affiliates.

Submitting a request that is knowingly false, misleading or made in bad faith may expose the person making it to liability under applicable law. We reserve the right to decline any request that appears to be fraudulent, vexatious or materially incomplete, or that is made by a party without standing to make it.

Where a person repeatedly submits requests that are abusive, vexatious or made in bad faith, we may decline to engage further with that person and may limit or refuse future correspondence from them relating to the Gallery, while continuing to honour genuine requests from verified owners and rights-holders.

The commentary, curator notes and derived design tokens in the Gallery are provided on an "as is" basis for editorial and educational purposes. We do not warrant that any analysis is technically or legally accurate, that any token export is complete, or that any pattern documented in the Gallery is suitable for reuse in your own context. We are not responsible for the content, availability or conduct of any third-party site referred to in the Gallery.
